മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകൻ രാജഗോപാലിന് പാസ്‍പോര്‍ട്ട് അനുവദിക്കണം, ബംഗാൾ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിക്ക് കത്തെഴുതി വി.ഡി. സതീശൻ

ദി ടെലഗ്രാഫ് മുൻ എഡിറ്ററും മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകനുമായ ആർ. രാജഗോപാലിന് പാസ്പോർട്ട് പുതുക്കി നൽകാത്ത വിഷയത്തിൽ ഇടപെടലുമായി കേരള മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി വി.ഡി. സതീശൻ. പശ്ചിമബംഗാളിലെ തീവ്ര വോട്ടർപരിഷ്കരണത്തിന് പിന്നാലെ രാജഗോപാലിൻെറ പേര് വോട്ടർപട്ടികയിൽ നിന്ന് ഒഴിവാക്കിയിരുന്നു. ഇതോടെ പാസ്പോർട്ട് പുതുക്കി നൽകാത്തതിനാൽ മകളുടെ വിവാഹത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാനായി കാലിഫോർണിയയിൽ പോകാൻ തനിക്ക് സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന് രാജഗോപാൽ സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയയിൽ പോസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. വിഷയത്തിൽ നീതിപൂർവമായ ഇടപെടൽ വേണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടാണ് വി.ഡി. സതീശൻ ബംഗാൾ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി സുവേന്ദു അധികാരിക്ക് കത്തെഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.

I am writing to draw your attention to the case of Mr Rajagopal Ramadas, resident of Flat 3A, 12 Dover Road, Calcutta - 700019, whose passport renewal application (File No. CA2076571543326) has reportedly been held up following an adverse verification report from Kolkata Police.

I understand that the adverse report is based on the deletion of his name from the electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). While the electoral issue is being dealt with through the appropriate appeal process, I am informed that the police report has had the effect of delaying the renewal of his passport.

Mr. Rajagopal Ramadas is a renowned journalist who has been based in Kolkata for the past three decades. He has had a distinguished career in journalism spanning more than three decades, including serving as editor of The Telegraph. He is also the son of Professor V. Ramadas, who served as state secretary of the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi in Kerala and was widely respected for his public service.

In these circumstances, I would like to request your good self to kindly look into the matter with urgency.
